A sunny, coastal Mediterranean Oasis Turned Guesthouse
Project Initiation - 2020
This recently-flipped central Los Angeles started out as an empty lot with rolled-out sod and quite a sterile empty outdoor space
The addition of two pergolas, and a deck overhanging an ecosystem pond with flowing stream brought shade and microclimates to the property, which became the basis for an abundant, diverse “edi-mental” landscape.
Jungle Garden Airbnb - 2022 to Present
Starting in 2022 the property was listed as a short-term rental, whose experience is centered around the lush, diverse food forest garden, and has hosted hundreds of visitors from around the world world with rave reviews!
Mediterranean Food Forest - 2021
After decking and water features, we created bearmed beds above the hardpan clay, making the site suitable for a collection of Mediterranean-climate plants from California, Australia and South Africa,
We placed a special focus on native annuals, perennials and woody plants, and low-maintenance fruit trees and vines.
“The beautiful yard and gardens plus the waterfall in the yard made it feel like we were at a private retreat in the heart of the city”
